Hello, I'm Maria Teresa.
I'm a creative technologist and community tech infrastructure engineer. After working across the nonprofit sector, I saw how many bottlenecks and breakdowns start when data and digital security are left to IT alone. I built Cyborg Commons to change that.
Cyborg Commons is a small consulting firm for movement-focused organizations facing high social engineering risk, including political leaders and small green firms. I'm pro little tech and pro-environment, so together we focus on solutions that protect people, communities, and the planet.

Why Cyborg Commons
We are all dependent on the cyber. Our relationships, our records, and our organizing run through machines, which has made us, in Donna Haraway's sense, cyborgs.
Commons comes from Fred Moten and Stefano Harney's thinking in The Undercommons: Fugitive Planning & Black Study. It means shared life held together by the people in it, not a resource owned by a vendor. For us, a commons means data and digital security belong to the whole organization.
